Go to the Choir page and listen to what you would have sung at your graduation this year. I also added the song 5th graders sang last year.

Sorry the visual quality of this video isn't great, but it's fun to see what they do with boomwackers. Earth Day and "The Water is Wide" Earth Day is Wednesday, April 22. This year marks the 50th time it's been celebrated. If you want to know more about the history of Earth Day, click HERE. In this week's lesson you will create a plastics composition using speech and mouth sounds, learn the song"Show You Care" for Earth Day, and compare performances of the English folksong "The Water is Wide". Go to the lesson HERE. Missing Music From Your Studies?Maybe, maybe not. But hopefully you will find something here to interest you. Also, go back to the March lessons in Archives if you haven't already. I've packed a lot into this weeks' lesson. Don't feel you have to do everything. Choose those activities that interest you the most. Or do everything. It's up to you. I found a great website with some fun music games. Click on this link https://musicplayonline.com/ and you will see the games on the right hand side. I especially want you to try out "Note Name Memory". Try all three levels. (I shared this with 4th graders also) . You get more points the faster you match up the notes on the staff with their names. What was your highest score? You might want to practice a few times and challenge another family member to play with you. Alternate and keep score. Who won? Next try: "Which Melody do you Hear?" See if you can master level 6 or 7. Or try the next level up and see how you do. Write me a comment below. Tell me what game was the easiest for you? Which game or level was hard? Did you "ace" all the answers? Let me know all about it. This Land is Your Land I thought this would make a great song of the month for all grades. You already know this song well, but the video below adds a cup game and an ostinato that you could play on your recorder or any keyboard instrument. Give it a try and let me know how you do in the comment section below. Missing more recorder? I know we stopped playing our soprano recorders a while ago. But if you are missing it, check out the songs I have posted on the 4th Grade page. What more UKE practice? If you have a ukulele at home, back to the main page of https://musicplayonline.com/ and click on the Ukulele tab and you will find lots of songs to play along with. |
